European Federation of Regional Energy and Environment Agencies (BELGIUM)

The European Federation of Regional Energy and Environment Agencies (FEDARENE) is the premier European network of regional and local organisations which implement, co-ordinate and facilitate energy and environment policies. Since1990, FEDARENE is

- A leading partner for actors involved in local supply and demand of energy
- An Initiator of ideas
- Forum for promoting co-operation and exchange of experience
- Centre for information and advice

As a platform for exchange among its members, FEDARENE is engaged in numerous activities related to network management and animation, as well as dissemination of information and communication. This implies activating the data exchange within the network and with similar networks (Energie-Cités, Eufores, EREF, EREC, etc.), informing the members on the evolution of the European policy in their field of activity, as well as promoting, at the European level, the position or the initiatives taken by the members.

FEDARENE organises and co-ordinates, on a regular basis, working groups where participants exchange ideas, experience and best practices. FEDARENE’s communication tools are a web site (www.fedarene.org), a bi-monthly newsletter ("Bulletin") a trimestrial magazine ("Fedarene Info") and a bi-monthly press review.

Over the past few years, Fedarene has been involved in numerous EU project in the field of energy and environment, including: "Energies for Europe", "Energy Skills", “100% RE-NET”, “Local and Innovative Biodiesel”, “Cogen Challenge”, “Sustainable Energy Communities (SEC)-Tools”, “Move”, “Serve”, etc.

Ms Dominique BOURGES

As co-ordinator of the FEDARENE Brussels’ office, Mrs Dominique Bourges has a sound knowledge of energy issues and local/regional energy management agencies. She has also developed an extensive experience in the field of network animation. Since nearly 10 years, she has co-ordinated and implemented European projects in the energy and environment fields. She has been responsible for planning, preparation and implementation of various type of activities including organisation of European conferences (conferences for the Campaign for take-off, annual meetings of the Save agencies in cooperation of Islenet and Energie-Cités, etc.) and working groups, study visits, publications (proceedings, brochures, websites, FEDARENE’s publications, etc.)…

Ms Elodie BOSSIO is engineer in Environment and Agriculture from the National Institute of Agronomy (AGROSUP) in Dijon, France. During her internship in Fedarene, she was in charge of a study aimed at comparing regional greenhouse gas inventories and subsequent 2006 action plans. Part of her professional experience has consisted in working on the reduction of energy consumption in buildings for the French association Entreprises pour l'Environnement in Paris and working as a consultant in a solar PV information company – ENF - in China for 2 years.
