Coordinator - Steering Committee Member
ACIDD
Association communication et information pour le développement durable (ACIDD) (France)
Communication on sustainable development is essential but suffers from an uncontrolled development. ACIDD, Association for the communication and information on sustainable development, organises
international meetings and dialogues on issues related to the various aspects of sustainable development. Together with Comité 21 ACIDD created the first summer university on communication for
sustainable development in 2003. Its success contributed to give birth to the global economic forum TIC21 implemented to explore the potential contribution of ICT to sustainable development. This
forum gathers every year around 500 participants from all over Europe. On top on these two yearly events, ACIDD pilots monthly workshops on ICT and sustainable development issues at the DIACT
(Délégation interministérielle à l’aménagement et à la compétitivité des territoires), France. It also organised a mini-forum on these issues at the Committee of the Regions in February
2007. Last but not least ACIDD initiated the elaboration of an education program on information society for children and teenagers (@cTICvist).
ACIDD and its staff will be in charge of managing the overall project. They will work on the implementation of the resource centre, participate in the steering committee, write progress reports and roadmaps and more generally deal with the everyday tasks related to the implementation of the network.
