The REEB project intent to promote and stimulate the innovative use of ICT through the establishment of multidisciplinary and complementary communities to improve the Energy management in the Built environment.
The general Objectives are:
A Strategic Research Agenda (SRA), detail Implementation Activity Plan for R&D and innovation in ICT supporting energy-efficient smart facilities with focus on ICT supporting roadmaps for energy efficiency measures/ policies and strategies for improving energy-efficieny both in new and renovated buildings.
A comprehensive coordination of information exchange and dissemination between energy related ICT projects; organizing events and communication channels for promoting and stimulating the innovative use of ICT in the Sustainability area to reach the widest audience and bring together all stakeholders from the enlarged EU.

The “Partnership Energy Planning as a tool for realising European Sustainable Energy Communities” (PEPESEC) project will support the emergence of European sustainable energy communities through increasing the use of local community planning for the efficient supply, distribution and use of RES (Renewable Energy Sources) and conventional energy, demand-side management and associated mobility.
Over the period January 2008 to June 2010 the PEPESEC project will work to achieve this through widening the use of existing best practice energy planning methodologies (from Sweden and wider EU) and further develop these through the addition of innovative techniques to facilitate the involvement of citizens, politicians, market actors and other stakeholders whose buy-in and actions are required for effective plan delivery.

eDIANA (Embedded Systems for Energy Efficient Buildings) addresses the need of achieving energy efficiency in buildings through innovative solutions based on embedded
systems.
The main goal of eDIANA, is to enable sustainable urban life through rationalisation in the use of resources while increasing comfort in urban environments by means of embedded
intelligence and integration technologies. The eDIANA approach is to achieve greater efficiency in use of resources, prioritising energy as scarce resource, more flexibility in
the provision of resources and better situation awareness for the citizen and for service and infrastructure owners. This will be achieved through the deployment and inter- operation of embedded
systems throughout the eDIANA environment of buildings and intra- building units. eDIANA’s main outcome of application is in fact the improved energy efficiency
in residential and nonresidential buildings.
